Scoop6 and other dodgy bets

As my regular reader(s) will know, I tipped Spain (11/2) to win Euro 2008 at the outset - and David Villa (16/1) to finish top scorer.
Villa currently tops the charts with four goals and it looks like only Podolski, on three, who can stop him now.
A Spain win, and no more than one goal for Podolski, and The Editor is £175 to the good. If it all goes horribly wrong I still get £25 back.

To get me in the mood, I'm backing the following today ..

1.55 Newmarket - Weald Peak (11/10)
2.35 Windsor - Bailey (2/1)
3.20 Northumberland - Rationale e/w (14/1)
3.35 Newmarket - King of Dixie (11/10)

Spain/Russia double was a nice little earner on Saturday. Tonight sees the conclusion of Group B.

Italy cost me my Italy/Holland double for 40 notes last night but hee-ho today is another day and at least the football has been magic.

Tonight I fancy Spain/Russia double at 3/1.

I don't think the Spanish will get it easy against the Swedes - and Henrik is worth a couple of quid for first/last scorer at 10/1 - but their class should show in the end.

Russia (5/4) to beat Greece is one of the bets of the tournament so far. Famous last words.

Remember, I have Spain (11/2) to win Euro 2008 and David Villa (16/1) top scorer.

I also have a couple of quid on each of the following horses ....

2.25 Bath - Infamous Angel (4/5
3.00 Bath - Kerry's Requiem (13/8)
3.25 York - Ancient Regime (9/2)
4.00 York - Deadly Silver (11/4)
4.40 Bath - Smooth as Silk (6/1)

Scoop6 and other dodgy bets

The Euros continue and tonight I'm back a 7/2 Italy and Holland double. Italy need to win (and they usually do) - Romania appear only to be interested in avoiding defeat.

Pirlo is unbelievably 20/1 with Ladbrokes and is surely worth an each way bet.

The Dutch were in awesome against the Italians in the first leg and, although I wouln't be surprised with a draw, I think they can get the three points which will see them through to the last 8.

Scoop6 and other dodgy bets

Turkey's last minute winner ensured I got back to winning ways last night with my 5/1 Turkey/Portugal double up.

The Swiss/Turkey game was the first of the tournament where a team has come from behind and as I'm a fan of the old ht ft bet it was bittersweet when Turan's deflected shot went in as it could and should have been a 28/1 winner for The Editor.

There's always tonight ... and I'm going for a Poland/Germany double at just over 3/1. Germany should have too much for Croatia and I fancy the Poles to win by the odd goal against the hapless Austrians.

Scooped! Press Release: Ireland

Scooped! has teamed up with The Sun - to produce special edition spoof front pages for its army of readers.

Europe's No1 company for personalised newspapers and magazines is now working with Ireland's best-selling newspaper to give YOU the chance to appear on the front page of a spoof Sun front page.

In last week's Irish Sun we invited readers to tell us, ahead of Father's Day, why their dad is The Best Dad in Ireland - with ten winners each receiving a framed spoof Irish Sun front page.

Now, for a limited period, readers can buy a special edition Sun birthday, wedding or Father's Day front page from just £25 by visiting www.makingthenews.co.uk/theirishsun

The Sun has never before allowed an outside company to use its famous masthead but Scooped! is no ordinary company.

Our loyal customers already know that, for the first time, they can buy a personalised newspaper or magazine front page gift that has been written and designed by real journalists with real experience of working in national newspapers.

While Scooped! has previously only used fictional mastheads - The Scoop, The Daily Scoop, SCOOP! - we have now ensured that, for the first time ever, Sun readers can appear on the front page of their favourite paper.

Scooped! director James McIvor - a former Sun chief sub-editor - said: "It is fantastic that our company has been asked to write and design spoof front pages for the country's best-selling newspaper.

"To the best of my knowledge no other national paper has given their readers the opportunity to star on their front page so I am confident that the concept will be well received by readers.

"We are giving away 10 framed Father's Day front pages this time but readers can also buy their very own Father's Day, birthday or wedding front page by visting www.makingthenews.co.uk/theirishsun

"Already there has been huge interest and I expect that to continue over the coming weeks.

"Scooped! has been going from strength to strength over the last couple of months and this is another huge breakthrough for us."

Scoop6 and other dodgy bets

So the Euros are underway and The Editor got off to a flyer yesterday with a fiver double on Portugal and the Czechs.

Little value in backing the favourites today (just over evens for Croatia/Germany double) so I'm going for draw ht croatia ft and draw ht germany ft. £2 singles and a £2 double.

That said I think Germany might struggle tonight. They're slowish starters in these tournaments plus they didn't win a single game at either of the last two tournaments - and with Artur Boruc in goals for the Poles 10/1 for no goalscorer seems good value.

Overall I'm going for Spain to win at 13/2 - they've got to come good sometime (how many times have we said that)
I've got £2 e/w on the Russians to be the surprise package and David Villa top scorer at 20/1.

Europe's No1 company for personalised newspapers and magazines is now working with Ireland's best-selling newspaper to give YOU the chance to appear on the front page of a spoof Sun front page.
In today's Irish Sun we invited readers to tell us, ahead of Father's Day, why their dad is The Best Dad in Ireland - with ten winners receiving a framed spoof Irish Sun front page.
For those who are unsuccessful, they can still buy a Sun front page from just £25 by visiting www.makingthenews.co.uk/theirishsun
The Sun has never before allowed an outside company to use their brand but Scooped! is no ordinary company.
All our personalised newspaper and magazine front page gifts are written and designed by real journalists.
As Sun readers now know it is always better to stick with the experts!
